Languages is our secret weapon

I've met a guy, or even a man couple of months before when I was participating in table tennis in uni. By the way, I really love this game an pretty good at it thanks to my lovely Dad, brother and friends. I am proud to say that I am the the best girl player in uni and even won couple of games against boys in tournament.

Anyway, I've met this 37-year old man during this tournament and he was asked to participate in competition in order to get proper number of people. He was very friendly and told me he was doing masters degree in uni despite his age. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but I've seen him today and it reminded me of his uniqueness.

Basically, he told me he was from Switzerland, but he fluently speaks English, French, Dutch,Italian, a bit Russian and even Chinese. Isn't it amazing? Obviously, in his age people can know so many languages, people would say. But, I've never met such people before and it really amazed me how simply he was able to switch from one language to another.

What I liked about him as well, is the fact that he surprisingly to all people around started to talk chinese to chinese guy playing well, but loosing points anyway. So, he told him something inspiring, I believe and it really helped, as we all noticed. Hence, his knowledge became useful in terms of inspiring people.

Once I've seen him, I started to think that I am definitely going to learn at least two languages for next 5-10 years, so I can use it in both work and everyday life. At the moment I know Kazakh, Russian, English and a little french. I am probably going to learn italian as I have some really great plan to do business connected with Italy in future. I also think about learning arabic language or spanish,as people call it the language of the future.

So, I hope it inspired you to think about what countries you are interested in and what languages would work for you in the future.
Thanks for reading
